I had a thought this morning while getting dressed. Not necessarily an original type thought, but a ground-shaking one for me. I have been on a detox diet, losing weight and getting healthier, and I was thinking about the foods I love that I wasn’t currently eating. I don’t really feel deprived, nor hungry, but sometimes I’d really like to have one of my previous favorite foods. I love Coconut Cake, and Carrot Cake. Not a big sweet eater, but I have a sweet spot for those two things.
I was thinking about the Carrot Cake not being so ‘bad’ since it was made with carrots and raisins, but then I remembered all the sugar, and gluten, and that cream cheese icing. I thought, “Well, Judy, one piece of that is probably more sugar than your body needs in a week.” Actually, not sure that your body even needs sugar, but that’s another tale.
All this got me thinking why do we want things that we know are not serving us? We have all the facts, the information, and yet we still choose to eat or do something that might cause harm, damage, pain, or worse. The more I thought about it, the more I wondered why. I wish I could say I had the be all, know all, end all answer, but I don’t.
I do know that you make the choice for yourself and your life. I do know that having a network of supporters in your corner is a huge help, and, for me anyway, makes all the difference in success or failure. Sometimes you can do it alone, but it is so much easier, faster, and successful with a mentor, a staunch supporter, a confidant working with you for your success.
I’d love to hear your comments on this. For now…
To your success and living a life you love,
Judy
