We all need a little help sometimes. In fact, sometimes we need more than a little help. I am fortunate that I have friends that are more than willing to help, as well as skilled tradesmen (or women) that I can call on for help with my house or yard. These wonderful people are trained to provide quality services for homeowners like me who aren’t able or qualified to perform some repair. Likewise, we sometimes need other help for our health, or other matters. We call on doctors, nurses, and others professionals to assist in those matters.
Many of us look to our faith to sustain us in our dark hours, and people who love us to help us through the journey. I am such a trained person, helping others through a difficult passage in life. Often I am allowed to help someone emerge and transform into happier person. One who has discovered personal strengths, knowledge and creative abilities to transport them into successes both personal, purpose related and others. For this I am truly grateful. Think of your friends and others that have helped you in some way and send them each a thought of gratitude.
I went in to pay my water bill the other day. The gentleman behind the counter asked how he could help me. I said I’d like him to take my money and handed over the check and bill. He said, “Well I don’t like taking your money, but I will.” I informed him that I was happy to give it to him, as that provided me with clean water to drink, bath, wash clothes and water my plants with little effort on my part, and I thanked him. He was a bit taken back and smiled, saying, “Yes, you are right. Thank you”. What a great encounter!
Make someone happy with your kindness, thoughtfulness and gratitude today.
