Today is Thanksgiving week. I’ve been talking about my gratitude, a few of the many things I am so very thankful for, this month. Today is a glorious sunny day, and as I was making my morning protein/veggie shake, I was fortunate enough to be gazing out the window as the sun peeked over the mountains. Now I’ve seen sunrises from the east coast over the Atlantic, the west coast over the Pacific and both ends of Hawaii, among other places. Sunrises are always a wonderful way to welcome the day, and this morning was no exception.
Sunrise in the mountains is special, rising in a glory of pink, purple, reds, through the morning mist, dew, fog, sometimes snow and ice. It is a light to end the darkness, wake up the world to the possibilities and wonders of a new day. Yesterday is over, night has passed, tomorrow is but a dream, for today we can live every minute, cherishing the earth, the light, the air, our friends, family, home, and even our work. So many things to be thankful for.
I am almost packed and ready to head off. I’m picking up my Mother in Atlanta and we are heading to FL to visit my sister for the holiday and Mother’s 87th birthday. I’m so grateful that I have her, and that I’m able to take her on this trip.
Please remember your blessings, have a great holiday week, and enjoy the little things each day that make our lives on earth such a magnificent wonder.
